On initiative of the FFA, the Fokker Heritage Trust Institution was founded by a co-operation between the National Aviation Museum Aviodrome and the FFA. This Institution has, with the aid of sponsors, donations and gifts, bought the entire Industrial Heritage of Fokker from the trustees after the unfortunate bankruptcy.

After the Fokker bankruptcy the FHT bought the historical inheritance of the enterprise for Dfl.2.3 million ( $1.22m, €1.05m, £0.74m). The Main Component: the archives of the Company History Department, complemented with artifacts and planes (the D.VII, the Spin [the Spin (Spider) was Anthony Fokker's first plane] and the second Fokker 50 prototype, PH-OSI). Since that time a lot of work has been put into organising and cleaning up the collection. |

In the course of 1994 did I get for the first time involved with the FFA. I worked at the time for the Directie Operaties (Operations Directorate) of the Koninklijke Luchtmacht (Royal Netherlands Airforce), KLu (in Dutch) for short. The involvement was the result of the contacts that a number of interested parties had made with the KLu, with the aim to come to the launch of a high caliber civil Airshow in the Netherlands. |
